Joanne Chang

Saturday morning, I went to the Brooklyn Kitchen.
Because from 1-3 Joanne Change was giving a demo and talking about her new book FLOUR.

The second that I stepped into the demonstration room I could smell the sweet crostata with pear and cranberries. Listening to her demo and watching her prepare the crostata, I could see her passion for Pastry and her genuine joy.
Her new cookbook, Flour has delicious recipes that I look forward to making during my winter break :)

Missing PAris

I miss Paris, so much. I find my self looking through my recipe cook and my pictures. I feel that I haven't cooked enough lately or even ate good food. But hopefully when I get out of school in a week, I will have the time to relax and make myself something to eat. Jacky and I have planned to buy some amazing cook book and cook at home together :) And my friends just started another session in Paris and I'm so jealous, I wish I was there!!!

Gibson Girls

So Right now in our Intro to American History class we are learning about the Gilded Age after the Civil War. And one of the artist that we came across of Charles Gibson. From the artwork we discussed in class, I found a deep interest in his artwork. Especially the Gibson Girls caught my eyes. First of all Charles Gibson was born on September 14, 1867 and died on December 23, 1944. He was an American graphic artist. He had many iconic representation of the beautiful and independent American woman at the turn of the 20th century. He brought power to the beautiful girls. Compared to many other artist at the time, Charles Gibson was an exceptional artist who emphasized the change in the society; A society that praised leisure and wealth.

I love the simplicity and the attitude of his illustration. Also the style back in the 1890's.

8th grade..?? or 7th grade??

I was going through my computer trying to delete my files because my computer is running out of space and I found this power point that I had made during my 8th grade. And I thought it would be fun to share it on my blog.
So, I took private cooking lessons with Italian and French chef. And these are the dishes that I had made 3-5 years ago.

Yesterday...

Yesterday was a long day at school. And I wanted to share my experience and the great photos taken by Halle Murdock.
During our AP art my friend and I were covered with glitter for her photo shoot. Although, the photo room became a little messy with sparkles, and my clothes and hair became filled with glitter, it was a lot of fun.

END OF INTERN

KOREA

So I interned in intercontinental for the summer as I wrote on my previous post. I worked in this restaurant called Table 34, which was a french restaurant. I worked 10 hours a day and learned so much about the hotel and restaurant industry. The chefs were exceptionally friendly and thoughtful. :)
